Boosting their sense of adventure and independence, child psychology professor Helen Dodd says watching sport can motivate children and make them want to play more sport or just want to get out and be physically active more often.

Tent’s research also focuses on the importance of adventurous outdoor play and the positive effects it can have on children’s mental health and overall wellbeing based on my experience and understanding of children’s mental health. I believe that children need the space and opportunity to be adventurous and engage in what could be called adventurous play.
