The original Rolls-Royce Wraith cost more than 200,000 pounds, but in the hands of Marcus Rashford, star of the Manchester United football team, the car was worth up to 700,000 pounds, due to additional customization from the German luxury tuning company Mansory.
The car was "disintegrated" in September 2023, when Rashford collided with another car and then crashed into a traffic light pole. Luckily, neither Rashford nor the other car driver were injured. But the Rolls-Royce Wraith was seriously damaged. The car lost the front bumper, front fender, part of the rear bumper, and the left window was shattered. The left suspension (both front and rear) was also damaged.
Mat Armstrong, a famous YouTuber with 2.55 million followers, bought this car from an auction. He spent 185 thousand pounds. This is just a small number compared to what Rashford paid for the car.
However, Mat Armstrong was shocked when the actual level of damage to the car was much worse than he thought. Although the pictures for sale are quite honest, the seller claims that the car can still be started. Or in other words, nearly 6 billion for a private Rolls-Royce that crashed with a good engine is not a big deal. Just a little repair can easily push the price back up. But this YouTuber has no such luck. Struggling all evening, he could only activate the engine once.
Upon closer inspection, Mat admitted the suspension and exhaust were a mess. He even compared the curvature of a luxury car to the curvature of a banana.
The cost of repairing a Rolls-Royce is already not cheap, and repairing a Rolls-Royce Mansory Black Badge is even more terrible. Because Mansory spare parts are among the most expensive in the world.
The carpet alone costs 3,200 euros, a small Rolls-Royce badge on the side of the car costs about 1,300 euros, a footstep costs 4,400 euros... According to Mat Armstrong, if he still did his previous job, he would lose his job. Up to 2 months salary just to buy a footstool to get into a Rolls-Royce.
The solution given at the end of the video is that this YouTuber will buy a Rolls-Royce and use it as a replacement part. The cheapest one costs around £90,000. The new video was shared on March 25, meaning it will be a long time before followers can admire the Rolls-Royce Wraith after being repaired.
