I used to work at a Walmart, the Walmart I worked at was open 24 hours before due to my child's school schedule, I would work the night shift so I could drop him off and pick him up. I'll do it at 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift every night during the day I slept slept took care of my son and worked a second job some days I was so exhausted during this time in my life it was not a great time great I have to I can pay what I can to pay the rent even though this Walmart is one of the larger supermarkets it is a super center not just a grocery store so it has everything it is one of the few stores open 24 hours around here.
I think Co changed that when I got there around 10:00 on this cold night, there was still a large amount of Shoppers in the store, a lot of people would come shopping late at night as time passed by of course it will be very quiet during the late hours of the night which will attract a lot more strange characters than the usual ones during the day until late at night there is only one person working at the front of the store and that person will stand at the self-checkout counter, without the regular checkout counter being open this late there will also be a few warehouse workers on the floor, which is what I did, then there will be a few warehouse workers in the back .
People that I never really interacted with, they did their own thing and then it was just in the evening that the manager on duty I was in the connecting aisle doing my usual daily inventory work. noticed a customer walking across the aisle then a few seconds later he came back into view at the end of the aisle and stopped and looked down at me when i looked back at him he started looking at the cereal, dude have curly hair. Honestly, I can't judge his ethnicity. He was carrying a black backpack on which looked stuffed to the brim with God knows how he lingered awkwardly in the middle of the cereal aisle for a minute, seemingly looking at the granola then he came a little closer to me and asked me where the bread was.
I pointed him in the right direction, he said thank you and slowly walked out of the way. I watched him walk and he had a very noticeable waddle when he was out of sight, he was out of sight though the problem was he wasn't out of sight for long i had been in the main walkway for a while and i started to notice that every few minutes that guy slowly walked across the aisle and looked down this way he wasn't holding anything he couldn't get any bread he just had in his big sketchy backpack I started working faster so I could finish this walkway and get away from him when I finished I took the empty uo platform back to the warehouse where I got it another ubo full of boxes ready for i had purposely chosen an aisle away from the cereal aisle.
Now I was in the potato chip aisle, also about 45 minutes after my first contact with that guy so there was no way he was still here but I mistakenly thought he had found me. was rotating the newer bags of chips behind the older bags on the shelf and then I looked to my right and that guy was at the end of the aisle again crawling up he still had nothing in the man's hand he was crawling around the store for almost an hour then he finally came close to me because i was afraid he would i tried to look away until he started talking i don't remember every word he said said but basically he said he was checking me out and he couldn't resist coming up to me and telling me how beautiful I was I responded as politely as I could I smiled fake it and say no thanks, that's so sweet.
He didn't stop there though he asked a bunch of personal questions like where am I since I was giving fake answers to everything this guy is completely ReRe and his breathing I'm really disgusting he asked for my number and I said I was meeting someone he said there was nothing wrong we were just friends to get him to leave me alone I gave him one fake phone number. Then I told him I couldn't really talk to anyone while I was at work, he made some creepy comments before walking away thinking he had complete trust that he got my number when in reality he was really creepy and I gave him a fake number. I thought it would all end hours passed and time seemed to go back. I wanted to go home when the only stock that was working at that hour suddenly talked to me saying there was some scary looking guy asking about me.
I said oh no and then told her to tell him I left. After that, I basically went to the employee lounge where I planned to hide for a while. I went to the waiting room and then sat in one of the chairs then the double doors opened and the guy walked in he looked at me and he looked angry he shouted you gave me a fake number you I think I swallowed gum out of fear I said you can't come back here sir then he took off his backpack and put it on the table next to me he started to unzip it looking at me that was when I had to go. I stood up and ran past him without even thinking he tried to grab my arm but he failed as I ran through the store I looked back and saw him running after me I ran out the front door shopping and getting out to my car was the only thing I could think of doing at the moment.
Also, I could try to find the male warehouse worker in the back or even the manager but that's no guarantee. I got to my car and saw the man leaving Walmart looking for me. He came slow he must have done something he saw my card but it was too late driving away i called the night manager and let him know what just happened and that i was uncomfortable tonight while there i also warned him about the man with a backpack full of unknown contents my manager told me i couldn't leave where there was a lack of manpower he said he He was going to call the police to make sure the man didn't come back and he said I needed to go back.
I was determined not to come back that night even though he finally got the text and said he would review the camera footage but I needed to come back tomorrow night which I did, he allegedly notified police the next day about the man and gave the police department surveillance footage. I've met a lot of characters who do that job but this guy was by far the scariest in that I had no idea what he was taking in his backpack. I don't want to.
